Maybelline Fit Me Concealer Review and Tips to Conceal Dark Circles

Hello there, makeup fanatics! So, I have had my share of skin issues but dark circles was never one of them until I started working as a content marketer. Concealing the dark circles became inevitable for me. I used different concealers from high-end to drugstore ones, but Maybelline Fit Me Concealer became my ultimate favorite.

Where to Buy:

I usually buy a lot of my makeup online from Cosmetic Planet. But I prefer buying foundations and concealers from walk-in stores because I cannot, for the life of me, determine the best shade for my skin by just looking up the swatches.

After running out of luck at Scentsation in Dolmen Mall, I made my way to Naheed Supermarket where luckily, Maybelline had a flat 25% off going.

I tested out a couple of shades for my skin and ended up buying two shades 25 (medium) and 10 (light). One is a little dark to conceal the discoloration and I use the lighter one for highlighting.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer Price:

So, the actual Maybelline Fit Me Concealer price was PKR 1199 but I got it for PKR 900. Thanks to the sale!

Claims and General Information:

To make sure that I review the product fairly and to not let you expect it to deliver merits it does not boast of, I made sure to list out the claims that Maybelline has laid to this concealer.

They say that this is makeup that doesn’t mess with you because:

  • It is 100% vegan
  • Contains no waxes and fillers
  • Is lightweight and breathable
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Dermatologically and ophthalmologically safe
  • Contains no fragrance

This year Maybelline extended its shade range for Fit Me Concealer and it now comes in 9 different shades instead of six which contain a variation of undertones and are suitable for many light and deep skin tones.

In each tube you get about 6.8 ml of product.

My Experience

So, I have used a couple of high-end and drugstore concealers but they were either always too pricey or not as per my expectation.

I asked the lady at the Maybelline kiosk to help me out with a shade that matches my skin and she offered 10 light and 25 medium. I have a light complexion with a little bit of redness and neither of the two shades seemed to match my skin perfectly when I swatched them. 10 seemed too light while 25 seemed dark. So, I decided to go for both (makeup freak problems).

I have been using it for a long time now and I keep repurchasing the same shades. It is definitely my go-to product when it comes to concealing dark circles and brightening the under-eye area.

As you can see, in the second picture my under-eye area seems brighter for sure. I did not buff it far too much but I did set it with a setting powder.

  • Blends like a dream
  • Brightens up the under-eye area
  • A little goes a long way

  • Can settle in creases if not buffed and set properly
  • Not full coverage
  • Shade range is lacking in spite of new additions

Overall Rating:

Do I Recommend?

I absolutely recommend this concealer, especially for people who don’t have major dark circles or creases. If you have good skin overall, you can totally skip the foundation and wear this concealer by it as well.

4 Steps to Conceal Dark Circles Perfectly:

For concealing my dark circles perfectly and preventing fine lines and cakiness, the following is my method of flawless application:

Apply an Under Eye Primer or Eye Cream:

Step # 1

In order to fill smooth out the fine lines under my eyes and hydrating the area, I apply a thin layer of my favorite Mana Beauty Spirit Eye Cream. I dab it into my skin gently rather than rubbing the area. I let the cream get fully absorbed and begin my makeup after about 5 minutes of cream application.

Apply Orange Color Corrector or Use an Orange Lipstick:

Step # 2

I usually use LA pro girl orange color corrector under my eyes. If I run out of it, orange lipstick works well for me too. I apply a small amount under the eyes and softly blend it just a little. Then I apply my foundation to my entire face covering my under eye area too. The orange corrector is always visible after the application of foundation too but that is nothing to worry about. Just hop onto the next step!

Apply Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Step # 3

After letting my foundation set for about 2 minutes, I take a darker shade of Fit Me concealer and I apply it only to the under eye area and I blend it by dabbing it into my skin with the help of a tapered makeup brush or beauty blender. Then, I take my lighter shade concealer and I make an elongated ‘V’ with it and I blend it the same way. This time, it is for brightening the under eye and cheek area.

Set it with Pressed or Loose Powder

Step # 4

With the help of the tapered brush again, I apply a small amount of powder under the areas where I concealed. I make sure that I move the brush left to right and right to left so that it does not settle into my fine lines. In the end, I use a makeup setting spray for making my entire look stay longer.

This method of application is only for formal events. However, you can skip the color correction part if you want to follow this method in your routine application.

I usually use orange color corrector from LA pro girl. It is very reasonable and easily available on Cosmetic planet (Facebook page). The lipstick I have used is Etude 304. x
